At Paint Body Equipment Direct (“PBEDirect”), we’re committed to getting your automotive supplies, paints, tools, and equipment to you safely and efficiently. This policy outlines our shipping methods, costs, timeframes, and procedures for customers in the United States and Canada.

Quick version: Most in-stock orders process in 1–2 business days and ship ground (3–7 days in the US). Free standard shipping on orders over $425. We ship to all 50 states (including Alaska and Hawaii) and Canada. Paints, solvents, and aerosols are hazmat and ship ground only, with longer transit times.

Shipping Coverage Areas

United States

  • Coverage: all 50 states (including Alaska and Hawaii) and Washington D.C.
  • Standard shipping available to all addresses; expedited options available for most locations.
  • Restrictions: some hazardous materials have shipping restrictions to certain states.

Canada

  • Coverage: all provinces and territories.
  • Customs: additional documentation required; extended timeframes due to customs processing.
  • Duties and taxes: customer is responsible for applicable customs fees.

Currently not shipping to

  • International destinations outside of Canada.
  • US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.) — contact us for special arrangements.
  • APO/FPO addresses — contact us for military shipping options.

Processing Time

Standard processing

  • Business days: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM PST.
  • Processing time: 1–2 business days for most orders.
  • Same-day processing available for orders placed before 12:00 PM PT on business days.
  • Weekend orders process on the next business day.

Extended processing

  • Custom-mixed paints: 2–3 business days.
  • Special orders: 3–5 business days or as specified.
  • Large equipment: 2–4 business days for proper packaging.
  • Hazardous materials: an additional 1–2 days for compliance verification.

Holiday processing

  • No processing on federal holidays; possible delays during peak seasons.
  • Holiday shipping schedules are posted on our website.

Shipping Methods & Timeframes

Standard ground shipping

  • United States: 3–7 business days; cost calculated at checkout by weight and destination; tracking on all shipments; insurance included up to $100 value.
  • Canada: 7–14 business days; cost calculated at checkout including international fees; customs processing may add 2–5 days; international tracking provided.

Expedited options

  • 2-Day Express: most US locations, 2 business days from ship date; not available for hazardous materials.
  • Overnight Express: major US metro areas, next business day; limited to non-hazardous items under 50 lbs.
  • Saturday Delivery: select locations with express shipping; surcharge applies; order by Thursday with express shipping.

Hazardous Materials Shipping

Heads up: many automotive products — paints, primers, clearcoats, solvents, certain adhesives, and aerosols — are classified as hazardous materials and can only ship by ground.

Shipping requirements

  • Ground only: hazardous materials cannot ship by air.
  • Extended delivery: 5–10 business days.
  • Additional fees: hazmat handling and shipping surcharges apply.
  • Special packaging and labeling required; maximum quantities per shipment may apply.

Restricted locations

  • Certain states, based on local regulations.
  • Remote locations not serviced by specialized carriers.
  • Canada shipments may have additional restrictions.

Large & Heavy Items

Freight shipping

  • When it applies: large equipment (compressors, spray booths, major tools), bulk orders, and items over 150 lbs.

Freight process

  • Quote required before processing.
  • Delivery appointment scheduled in advance.
  • Curbside delivery standard; inside delivery available for an additional fee.
  • Inspect items immediately upon delivery.

Order Tracking & Delivery

Tracking

  • Tracking information is emailed automatically when your order ships.
  • Track through our website or the carrier’s site; signature confirmation available on request.
  • We’ll proactively notify you of any delays or issues.

Delivery

  • Standard delivery is left at the address if secure.
  • Signature required for orders over $500 or on request.
  • Carriers typically make 3 delivery attempts.
  • Items are packaged to prevent damage in transit.

Delivery issues

  • Missing packages: report within 48 hours of expected delivery.
  • Damaged packages: inspect immediately and report damage.
  • Incorrect delivery: contact us immediately for resolution.

International Shipping (Canada)

Customs and duties

  • We provide all required customs paperwork.
  • Customer is responsible for all customs duties and taxes.
  • Customs processing may add 2–5 business days.
  • Some products cannot be shipped internationally.

Process

  • Same processing time as US orders.
  • Packages clear customs; tracking available throughout.
  • Payment of duties is required before package release.
