Can I grind with the side of it?

3/64 inch is the cleaner nominal fraction; 0.045 inch is DEWALT's stated product thickness. Both are shown because they are not exact equivalents.
Will it fit any 4-1/2 inch grinder?
Not automatically. Confirm the 7/8-inch arbor, Type 1 guard and flanges, and an adequate wheel speed rating.
