- Use on supported substrates including fiberglass, SMC, rigid plastics, sanded filler or putty, epoxy primer, and sanded OEM coatings.
- Prime bare-metal areas larger than 1 inch with a suitable epoxy primer before applying Slick Sand Optex.
- Do not apply over self-etch primer, acidic coatings, or after acidic prep wipes because they can inhibit cure.

How should I prepare for topcoat?
- Sand away all pink coloration before topcoating; remaining pink indicates unsanded primer.
- Follow the current Evercoat TDS for catalyst amount, gun setup, flash, sanding, and topcoat timing.

How do I know when I've sanded enough?
Keep sanding until all of the pink guide color is gone. Any pink left on the surface marks primer that still needs sanding before topcoat.
Can I spray it directly over bare metal?
Only on very small exposed areas. Evercoat says bare-metal areas larger than 1 inch in diameter need a high-quality epoxy primer first.
Will one coat fill rough bodywork?
It is designed as an ultra-high-build surfacer and Evercoat lists 4–6 mils per coat, but the repair condition and current TDS determine the number of coats.
