Useful shop notes

  • Allow the basecoat to flash completely before clearing; trapped solvent will hurt the finish.
  • Choose activator speed for booth temperature and job size, not by whichever can is already open.
  • High Teck lists a 15-minute purge and 30-minute bake at 140°F; use the current TDS for the full schedule.

Common questions

Which activator do I need?

7005-4 Fast for roughly 60–70°F, 7006-4 Medium for 70–80°F or 7007-4 Slow for 80–90°F. Activator is sold separately.

How much activator goes in?

The system mixes 4:1: four parts 7000 clear to one part 7005, 7006 or 7007 activator.

Is this primarily an overall clear?

It is a general-purpose economy clear for collision, truck and mobile-equipment work. Follow the TDS and your shop process when deciding whether it fits a spot, panel or overall repair.
