The last skim coat before primer. U-POL GOLD Flowable Glaze self-levels into pinholes and sand scratches and dries pinhole-free. It's ready to sand in 15–20 minutes, straight from a no-waste filler bag.

A finish coat that stays finished
- Self-leveling, pinhole resistant. Flows into pinholes and sand scratches and levels itself, so you block less and chase fewer pinholes in primer.
- Easy sanding. Knocks down fast with P180–P240 for a clean edge into the surrounding paint.
- Semi-flexible and solvent impervious. Holds up under primer and topcoat without swelling.
- Filler bag, not a can. Squeeze out exactly what you need. No skinned-over glaze, no contaminated can.
Approved substrates
- Bare steel, aluminum and galvanized
- Polyester body filler and fiberglass
- Original (OEM) paint, SMC, lightly abraded E-coat and most plastics
Application
- Prep. Degrease. Sand bare steel and body filler with P80; sand aluminum, galvanized, paint and fiberglass with P180. Degrease again.
- Mix. Squeeze glaze onto a clean mixing board and add BPO cream hardener: about 3% at 50 °F, 2% at 70 °F, 1% at 85 °F. Mix to one even color.
- Apply. Spread a thin skim coat, 1–2 mm maximum, within the 4–5 minute pot life (at 70 °F). Apply between 40 °F and 85 °F.
- Sand. After 15–20 minutes, sand with P180, then finish with P180–P240. Use a guide coat to check for low spots.
- Prime. U-POL recommends a SYSTEM 20 primer for the best surface.

Can it go direct to bare metal?
Yes. U-POL approves it on bare steel, aluminum and galvanized after proper prep: P80 on steel, P180 on aluminum and galvanized.
How much hardener do I use?
About 2% BPO cream hardener at 70 °F. Use more in the cold (3% at 50 °F) and less in the heat (1% at 85 °F).
How soon can I sand?
In 15–20 minutes, depending on temperature.
Glaze or filler: which do I need?
Use glaze for pinholes, sand scratches and imperfections up to 1–2 mm. Anything deeper needs body filler first.
What primer should go over it?
U-POL recommends its SYSTEM 20 primers, such as UP2253 High-Build 2K.
