Match the factory bead
- Four ways to apply. Caulk, tool, brush or spray it to match the OEM look.
- Won't shrink or crack. 3M says it will not shrink, crack or outgas.
- Corrosion inhibitors. Built into the epoxy.
- Goes on bare metal. Bare steel, galvanized steel and aluminum, as well as 2K primers.
Tool it on bare metal. 3M says to spread or tool the bead on bare metal so it doesn't bridge sand scratches. If it has cured more than 24 hours, scuff it before painting. 3M still recommends 2K primer underneath where you can.
Application
- Clean and prep: bare metal, 2K urethane or epoxy primer, or prepared OEM finish. Keep it away from acid-etch primer.
- Load the cartridge, dispense until both parts flow evenly and attach a 3M static mixing nozzle.
- Apply and tool, brush or spray within the 6-minute work time. Use OEM Match tips for factory ripple or spray beads.
- Paint after 15 minutes at 70°F.
- Leave the used nozzle on to seal the cartridge.

Can it go on bare metal?
Yes, on properly prepared bare steel, galvanized steel or aluminum. 3M still recommends 2K primer first where possible.
Can I match factory ripple or sprayed beads?
Yes, with 3M OEM Match tips and the 33999 air kit, sold separately.
Does it replace 3M 08310?
Yes. 3M says beige 08522 replaces 08310, and black 08528 replaces 08308.
What nozzle does it need?
