Why it works

Seal, protect, paint

  • Bare metal ready. Bonds to bare steel, galvanized steel and aluminum, as well as 2K urethane or epoxy primer and sanded paint.
  • Corrosion inhibitors. Chemical inhibitors are built into the epoxy.
  • Non-sag. Holds its bead on vertical seams.
  • Flexible. 867 psi tensile strength with 125% elongation.
  • Metered mixing. The dual cartridge and static nozzle mix it for you, with no hand mixing.
Tool it on bare metal. 3M says to spread or tool the bead on bare metal so it can't bridge the sand scratches and adheres to the substrate itself.
How to use

Application

  1. Sand bare metal with grade 50–180. Scuff painted surfaces with a Scotch-Brite pad, then clean.
  2. Load the cartridge in an applicator, dispense until both sides flow evenly, and attach a mixing nozzle.
  3. Apply the bead to the seam and tool it into the substrate within the 10-minute work time.
  4. Paint after 15 minutes at 70°F. If it has cured more than 24 hours, scuff it first.
  5. Leave the used nozzle on the cartridge to seal it for next time.
