Bond and seal in one step
- Corrosion inhibiting. Passes SAE J2334 cyclic corrosion testing.
- Built-in bond line. 10 mil glass beads control the adhesive thickness.
- Many substrates. Steel, aluminum, SMC and FRP.
- Heat cure on demand. 3,061 psi after 10 minutes at 200°F.
Where it goes
- Yes: door skins, roof skins, quarter panels and box sides, including panels that are also welded or riveted.
- No: pillars, rockers, strut towers and frame rails, unless the vehicle maker specifies it. For OEM-specified structural bonds, 3M makes Impact Resistant Structural Adhesive 07333.
Application
- Load the cartridge in a 3M 08117 manual or 09930 pneumatic applicator and fit an 08193 or 08194 mixing nozzle.
- Dispense a little until both parts flow evenly before applying to the panel.
- Apply to clean, prepared metal and position the panel within the 90-minute work time.
- Clamp for 4 hours at 73°F, or speed it up with a heat gun, heat lamps or a booth bake.
- Keep the vehicle at 73°F or warmer for 24 hours before it goes back in service. Change the nozzle if the cartridge sits unused more than 30 minutes.

FAQ
Is this a structural adhesive?
No. 3M rates 08115 for non-structural outer panels. Use 07333 only where the vehicle maker specifies structural bonding.
Can I weld through it?
Squeeze-type resistance spot welding through the uncured adhesive is OK. Never MIG weld through it.
How long before I can clamp-release?
4 hours at 73°F. Full cure takes 24 hours, or less with heat.
What gun do I need?
A 200 mL dual-cartridge gun: 3M lists the 08117 manual applicator and the 09930 pneumatic applicator.
Is there a warranty?
3M gives a limited warranty for the life of the vehicle, covering labor to reattach the panel and a rental car.
