Sharp lines on real shapes
- Stays stretched. 3M says it conforms to uneven surfaces without lifting, so paint doesn't bleed.
- Clean after bake. No ghosting or residue after a 30-minute bake at up to 250°F.
- One-piece removal. The strong vinyl backing pulls off without tearing.
- See your line. A moderately translucent indigo backing.
Fine line first, then mask. Lay 471+ to define the paint edge, then bridge to paper or plastic with a wider masking tape like 388N. The vinyl gives the edge; the crepe tape holds the coverage.
Application
- Clean the surface so it's free of wax, oil and dust.
- Lay the tape along your line, stretching it gently around curves.
- Mask the rest of the area to the tape with paper or plastic.
- Spray, then bake at up to 250°F for 30 minutes if needed.
- Pull the tape back over itself for a clean, one-piece removal.
