Sikkens' high-solids acrylic urethane clear for Autowave and Autobase Plus. It lays down high gloss on spots, panels or overalls, mixes 2:1 with Autoclear PC Hardener, and gives you a 4-hour pot life to work with.

Gloss with room to work
- High solids. 1.2–1.5 mils per coat, with 2 wet coats reaching the 2.4 mil minimum.
- Long pot life. 4 hours at 70°F in the standard mix.
- Tunable speed. Blend with Autoclear PC Production at 75/25, 50/50 or 25/75 to speed it up.
- Air dry or bake. 30 minutes at 140°F metal temperature, or 10 hours to handle at 70°F.
Goes over
- Sikkens Autowave and Autobase Plus basecoats, after their flash time
- Existing finishes sanded with P1000 or a gray scuff pad, then cleaned
- Autoclear PC itself, at any stage (sand after 12 hours)
Mix and spray
- Mix 2 parts Autoclear PC (or PC Production, or a blend) with 1 part Autoclear PC Hardener 391299, by volume. The TDS lists no reducer.
- Check viscosity: 13–14 seconds in a DIN #4 cup at 70°F.
- Use an HVLP or compliant gravity gun with a 1.3–1.5 mm tip. HVLP is limited to 10 psi at the air cap.
- Apply 2 single wet coats, flashing 0–7 minutes between them. Add a 3rd coat if you expect heavy polishing.
- Flash 0–5 minutes, then bake 30 minutes at 140°F metal temperature, or air dry 10 hours at 70°F.

FAQ
What hardener does it take?
Autoclear PC Hardener 391299, 2 parts clear to 1 part hardener by volume. A gallon of clear takes half a gallon of hardener.
Do I reduce it?
The Sikkens TDS lists no reducer for Autoclear PC. It sprays as mixed at 13–14 seconds DIN #4.
PC or PC Production?
Same chemistry and hardener. PC Production is the fast version: 1 h pot life and 10 minutes at 140°F, against 4 h and 30 minutes for PC. You can blend the two.
Do I have to bake it?
No. It dries to handle in 10 hours at 70°F, or 30 minutes at 140°F metal temperature.
Is it low-VOC compliant?
No. It's a National Rule clear at up to 4.1 lb/gal ready to spray. For low-VOC areas, use Autoclear Performance LV.
