Why it works

Built for clear

  • C1+ clearcoat air cap. DeVilbiss says it lays clear down flat and minimizes runs and sags on vertical panels.
  • New fluid tip. Increases fluid flow while stabilizing the air flow.
  • Digital gauge at eye level. The DGi Pro reads to within 0.7 psi, turns on when you pull the trigger and is gun-washer safe.
  • Two caps. The C2+ cap runs at 11.3 scfm with a 12.2 in fan, alongside the C1+ at 10.0 scfm and 12.8 in.

Read the gauge, not the wall. DeVilbiss specs 22 psi at the digital gauge, which is the same as 29 psi at the gun handle. Set it with the trigger pulled and you'll hit the same numbers every time.
Setup

How to set it up

  1. Fit the C1+ cap and the tip your clear's data sheet calls for (1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 mm).
  2. Attach a DeKups cup through the included DPC-43 adapter.
  3. Pull the trigger and set 22 psi on the digital gauge.
  4. Spray from 6–8 in (150–200 mm).

Both are HVLP clear caps. The C1+ uses 10.0 scfm with a 12.8 in fan; the C2+ uses 11.3 scfm with a 12.2 in fan.

Can I use the basecoat tips?

DV1 tips are specific: clear tips are marked "C" and base tips "B". The clear kit ships with 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 C tips.
