Tougher than standard masking
- Wet sanding. A water-resistant backing treatment made for wet sanding prep.
- Any paint. Q1 lists it for waterborne and solvent-based coatings.
- Heat rated. 230°F (110°C) for 30 minutes, or 194°F (90°C) for 60 minutes.
- Stronger than Q1 Premium. 42 N/cm tensile against 38 for Q1's yellow Premium tape.
Don't bake your spares. Q1 says not to keep rolls in the booth during bake cycles. Store them at 59–77°F and below 50% humidity so the adhesive stays consistent.
Application
- Bring tape stored below 50°F (10°C) back to room temperature before use.
- Apply at 50°F or warmer, to a clean, dry, oil-free surface.
- Mask, then wet sand or spray waterborne or solvent-based paint.
- Bake at up to 230°F for 30 minutes, or 194°F for 60 minutes.
