Efficient and repeatable
- HVLP transfer. SATA's "Extra-Efficient" technology for particularly high transfer rates.
- Gauge in the handle. It shows actual inlet pressure, which is what HVLP atomization depends on.
- X nozzle system. I nozzles for control, O nozzles for speed. It sprays water- or solvent-based basecoats and 1K/2K clears.
- Ready to spray. It ships with RPS 0.6 L and 0.9 L cups on the QCC connection.
Pick your fan: I (Control) or O (Speed)
- I nozzle. A parallel, elongated fan with a minimal dry zone and a drier center, for maximum control. It builds slightly less film per coat.
- O nozzle. An oval fan with a wet core and a larger fade-out zone, for higher application speed.
- Size is flow, not fan width. Going from 1.2 to 1.4 mm moves more material. Match it to your coating maker's data sheet.
How to set it up
- Run an antistatic, solvent-resistant hose with at least a 9 mm (about 3/8 in) inside diameter, and filter your air. SATA specifies both in the manual.
- Fill the cup no higher than 20 mm (about 3/4 in) below the rim and lock it onto the QCC connection.
- Open the material flow control and the air micrometer fully. Then pull the trigger all the way and read the handle display while you set 2.0 bar (29 psi).
- Spray from 10–15 cm (3.9–5.9 in). That's closer than RP, so reset your distance if you're switching. Pull the trigger fully on every pass.
- Clean it nozzle-down with a neutral cleaner (pH 6–8), keeping air flowing through the gun. Never soak it and never use an ultrasonic cleaner. Blow it dry when you're done.

FAQ
RP or HVLP: why HVLP?
SATA calls RP "the Extra-Fast": high-pressure technology for maximum working speed with VOC-compliant transfer rates. HVLP is "the Extra-Efficient": low-pressure technology for particularly high transfer rates. It needs more air and a closer spray distance.
How big a compressor do I need?
The gun alone uses 15.2 cfm (at 29 psi inlet). Size for that delivered air plus headroom for your hose, filters and anything else running. SATA also specifies a hose with at least 9 mm (3/8 in) inside diameter.
What comes with it?
SATA lists the gun with two RPS multi-purpose cups, one 0.6 L and one 0.9 L.
What battery does the gauge use?
One Renata CR1632. SATA says it lasts 1–3 years and gives a low-battery warning several weeks ahead. The gauge reads to ±1 psi.
Is there a warranty?
SATA offers a free extension to 3 years on spray guns through its Premium Warranty, which you activate online with the gun's serial number. It covers material and manufacturing defects. Wear parts and electronic components are excluded.
